more hiking... 29th street trailhead

I love hiking! and as I mentioned before, I love how close the mtns are. there are so many trails in the area, where do we go? I still have so much to explore...

it was another random hot day in Utah so a hike sounded like a great plan. my friend, Tyler decided that we should go to the waterfall canyon at the 29th street trailhead in Ogden. great idea.

we didn't know where we were going. shoulda took a photo of the trail map but we didn't. smart. pretty smart when it comes to hiking, eh? lol. we'd been hiking for about 10 mins when we came to a fork in the trail. the sign was NOT very clear. straight, up, down or sideways??? uh?? we shoulda followed the drawn-in arrow! haha.

we started off with the scenic route, saw some dude on the way, asked him what the fastest way to get the the waterfall was and he said to turn around. haha. dang it!

it was a bit rougher than I thought. felt like a 45 or so degree incline (may be an exaggeration. ha.) most of the way. water pls. :-) when it leveled off a lil bit, we reached a bridge, crossed over a creek and saw this cool rock climbing boulder and admired it for a lil. then went on our merry way.

we followed this pretty flat path to the right of the boulder and noticed we were alone. weird. we swore the 3 guys following us had passed us at the bridge and went ahead but they were nowhere in site. hmm? we kept walking for about 10 minutes or so. saw a guy running barefooted. what??

we reached another bridge and creek with a sign of the different trails. wait, what? we gotta go back? seriously? we reached another canyon. wow!

great photo opp. :-)

luckily, we had service. we decided to look up the map on the internet and Tyler called his friend for direction. yup, we'd gone the wrong way. oops! apparently, back at the other creek, between the bridge and the boulder, there's a path to the waterfall. how the heck did we miss that? so back we went.

ah ha! there is a path in between the bridge and the boulder. sheesh! and not too far in, we ran into the 3 guys. haha. they said this was the most treacherous part of the hike and we were getting close. not close enough. geez. I was huffin' and puffin'. lol. more water pls! hehe. about 15 or so mins later and crossing the creek with no bridge, just rocks, we reached the waterfall. yay! and what a sight to see. :-)

we chilled, enjoyed the view and mist from the waterfall for a lil. quite refreshing! and I had a snack. and water. :-) then we headed down cuz Tyler had to head to work... and the part where we had to cross the stream on rocks, well, this time around, Tyler didn't quite make it. haha.

as always, fun times! :-)

the Ogden fairway, I think.
