4.08.12.2315: one year...

ago exactly (well maybe not exactly, but pretty close to the hour or minute. hehe.), I became a Utahn. :-) I really can't believe it's been a year, it went by so fast. and I've been having a blast. I love it here! so far...

weather is insane. it could be cold and snowing in the am then sunny and warm in the evening. like Seattle, all seasons can happen in one day, which I actually enjoy. :-) I still haven't experienced a real "winter" or "summer" here. def looking forward to it. I'll give Utah one more chance this next year. hehe. then who knows. if it doesn't prove itself, I may need to move on. :-P

summer was lotsa fun! hot, but not too hot. def a better summer than Seattle summers, heat-wise. :-) went camping, hiking, cycling, swimming, explored the city and surrounding areas, partied, kicked it. photos on fb. check 'em. I may make a summer album. stay tuned, possibly. haha.

fall was ok. saw a bit of change in the leaves and whatnot but not much. don't really pay attention to fall too much. haha...

the winter was pretty crappy. worst the locals have seen in years. riding season is pretty much over, sadly. def didn't live up to the "greatest snow on earth". although, I've enjoyed it anyways. I got a super easy parking lot attendant job at pow mow and got a free season pass. only to lose it towards the end but got a free replacement. :-) it was totally worth it. one day a week for at most 4 hours. yup, be jealous! ;-) for photos, see fb album, pow mow 2012.  =)

spring is sucky so far. my allergies are off the chain. def did not get any better. I would say worse. gotta get tested again. different environment. blah! def do not like this season.

I love the outdoors and would def like to explore more. I love how I'm surrounded by all the mountains. although, they're really only pretty with snow. :-P some get green but not a green as the pnw, prob due to lack of rain. hehe. here, they get all brown and dry. not easy on the eyes for those passer-byers. def miss the pnw trees. just not the allergies they cause. ugh! the air is def dry, high elevation, desert ish. bad for the skin. gotta stay moisturized. the water is kinda gross, hard water. leaves spots. no bueno. better tasting in some spots than others. actually drinkable tap, which I did not like doing in Seattle...

slc is way smaller than Seattle. I swear downtown slc is like 2 square blocks. haha. def miss the big city. but I don't mind it here. it's nice and relaxing and even slower-paced. :-) traffic, what? not nearly as bad, thank goodness! but drivers suck! so that makes up for the traffic. drivers are horrible. don't really know which is the fast or slow lane or if there are any lanes at all. are we gonna speed or drive below the speed limit? or how about let's drive as slow as possible? do we wanna put up a "Mormon block", as a friend calls it, so no one can pass by?? hmmm? can't decide. oh wait, did we even take driving lessons? sheesh! worse than Sunday drivers. wait, did the term come from Utah? haha...

culture is different, way different. ain't much. hehe. def ain't very diverse here at all. except at the bars or clubs. haha. really haven't met many Filipinos. although, I actually work with one, surprisingly... it's really hard to find good ethnic foods. but there are some really good restaurants, trust me. :-) sushi really ain't bad, no matter what anyone tells you (hank;-) ). though, it's not as fresh as it is in the pnw. I have still yet to explore the many restaurants here, I need my fat boys!! miss y'all!

fyi, slc is the gayest city in the nation, per the Seattle PI. I'm def in the wrong city to be meeting my dream guy. haha. plus, I def get judged. especially cuz of the way I dress and I don't wear make up. good  lo'd! come on now. I have natural beauty. :-P and I like to be comfortable. is that wrong?? sheesh! haters! I'm strictly... =)

surprisingly, I haven't been approached much about religion, aka I have not been converted. :-P I do wear a cross on my necklace everyday and I've actually been complimented on it. I've met and surely am surrounded by many mormons but I don't get preached to or none of that jazz. I don't get asked questions.   wonder if i get judged? maybe behind my back but I could care less. haha. only God will judge me so there! ;-)

it was def hard leaving all my fam and friends back in Seattle. I completely miss everyone, especially my nephews and nieces. and I've been hella sad thinking about missing out on all the kiddies being born. cuz I've been there for so many births and watching them grow. but I know I can always visit. Skype has def made it easier... I'm a pretty shy person (I really am. hehe.) and for me to open up to anyone is a lil hard but has become easier. not because I moved but just growing as a person. however, I've met some awesome and amazing peeps here, who've made me feel at home and comfortable. some I call fam now and will be a part of my life always. you know who you are. and those with kiddies def make it easier when I'm missing all the kiddies back home (seattle, my first home). :-) thank you for allowing me to be a part of your lives!

I've had many experiences here so far. I'll try to write as I remember or experience. :-) or just check my fb. haha. it's awesome to be able to reflect on the past year on Easter day. I am very blessed and thank God for everyday. and without Jesus' sacrifice, I may not be here today. I'm glad and proud to have allowed myself the opportunity to grow and experience more in life. I'm very thankful for great fam and friends, and for all their love and support. I love you all.

to many more great years, whether they be in Utah or any other place on earth. :-)

here are some easy access photos... don't be butt hurt if I don't got a photo of you on here. ;-) I'm typing this on my phone...
